Q. Can We Get To Know You?

A.  My Name is Joshua Abba Jeremiah Also known as HITSOUND. I am a music producer and content creator from Kogi State, Nigeria. I started making music at a very early age and grew up in a family of music lovers. I did not take music seriously until my High school days when I decided to take a career in Rap. 

I would perform in class, Church, and every event that had opportunities for emerging artists. Production came after when I was not able to afford recording sessions. 

I was producing for myself and working with other upcoming artists to make extra money for myself. Fast forward to this very day, I have been working on a lot of projects and diversifying my reach with daily upgrades to my musical genius

Q. Congratulations on breaking the Guinness World Record! Can you share your initial reaction when you found out you achieved this remarkable feat?

A. I was really excited and happy that I could do it with the help of amazing people around me. It was an amazing experience.

Q. What inspired you to attempt the Longest Recording Marathon, and how did you prepare for such a demanding endeavor?

A. I attempted the record for my love for music, passion for growth, putting My country and culture on the map, and the ever-growing demand for adventure. I put myself to the test as this was my opportunity to show the world what I could do.

It took 3 months of intensive planning and preparation. Rehearsal for abstaining from sleep, camera positioning, and the like of it. The last month before the attempt was more about the venue and mental preparation. I had to prepare myself for the better. With the help of my camera crew and ANR Duty, it was all sorted.

Q. Can you tell us about some memorable moments during the recording marathon with various artists? Any particular collaborations that stood out to you?

A. I would say all the artists brought their A-game to the event. The moment I won't forget is when I almost fell into deep sleep on the second day. It wasn’t easy at all. Day 3 was memorable because Masterkraft came through to show his support. Every day was filled with amazing occurrences that will live in our minds forever.

Q. Afrobeats is a genre known for its vibrant energy and diverse influences. How do you think this genre has evolved over the years, and what role do you see yourself playing in its growth?

A. Afrobeats has progressed drastically over the years with the heavy work being put into the promotion of the culture by the likes of Rema, Davido, Wizkid, Burna and other talented musicians.

I enjoy producing Afrobeats tracks, the reason being that it’s the genre I grew up listening to and it has shaped my tune over time. I enjoy working with artists who know their craft, Once the artist is talented and easy to work with I automatically just vibe with them to make a hit.

Q. Breaking a world record requires immense dedication and perseverance. What kept you motivated throughout the entire process, especially during challenging moments?

A. I would say it’s the thoughts of how important it was to be different and make myself, my family and my team.

Q. Collaborating with numerous artists must have been a unique experience. How did you manage to bring together such a diverse group of talents, and what did you learn from working with them?

A.  I was able to gather that number of artists with the help of ANR duty. The selection process was done online then other artists were selected at the venue of the event. I learned how flexible making music can be if the artist is highly skilled. It makes the process smooth and enjoyable.

Q. In the world of music production, innovation is key. Are there any new techniques or technologies you explored during the marathon that you believe will shape the future of music production?

A. I can’t say I invented a technological innovation but I would say I understood new techniques in my software that would 10x my work rate. It might be something a lot of producers know so I won't take credit for that.

Q. Afrobeats has gained international popularity. How do you think your achievement contributes to the global recognition of Afrobeats, and what message do you hope to convey through your music and this record-breaking feat?

A. This would definitely open a gateway for exposure to the culture in the production aspect and show the diversity of art through music. My message will always be explained better through my music. It translates way into the minds of every individual who listens to good music and knows what they want in rhythm.

Q. ​Breaking a Guinness World Record is undoubtedly a significant achievement. What impact do you think this accomplishment will have on your career, as well as the Afrobeats music industry as a whole?

A. This definitely has given me the right exposure; I will use this avenue to teach and raise a new generation of insightful musicians on my social media platforms. As for the afrobeats music industry, so far I keep making great tunes that will continually be a win for the culture.

Q. ​Lastly, what advice do you have for aspiring producers and musicians who look up to your journey and are inspired by your success?

A. They should never give up on their dreams and aspirations. Work twice as smart every day until you see results. Accompany hard work with prayers and faith in your abilities. Never rush into doing anything until you are ready and have prepared for it.

Dr. Soyemi, a consultant pathologist, Dr. Sunday Soyemi at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital presented a report of postmortem of the deceased  Sylvester Oromini on Tuesday. 

Dr. Soyemi said,"Before I started the autopsy the doctor who conducted the first autopsy was present. So I observed the autopsy wasn't properly done. For example at the first autopsy, the pathologist never opened the oesophagus (which is the food pipe). 

He also did not open the trachea (which is the air pipe through which we breath). This are vital things that he shouldn't have missed out. He also refered to his report claming chemical intoxication, for one to be intoxicated with chemical that chemical has to pass through the oesophagus.

Dr. Soyemi affirms that it could never had been any chemical intoxication if it didn't near the oesophagus. 

He also stated that the first pathologist didn't detached the lungs from the heart. He said," If he had done that the weight alone will tell you something is wrong with the lungs. I would say he did a botched autopsy".

Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, faulted the evidence of the pathologist. He said, "His autopsy is self explanatory. Your Lordship has allowed the witness speak authoritatively of a document that have not been tendered. We therefore urge your honour to stop the witness move by the DPP".

The Coroner, Mr. Kadiri disagreed with objection of Mr Falana, however requested that the documents be served to the counsel. 

However, some of the counsel insisted that they don't want to be part of any potential and sensitive document.

Mr. Falana queried some observations in the evidence report done by the pathologist. 

He asked "Don't you think the blackish substance in the intestine of the deceased should have been taken to a toxicology laboratory in view that the deceased was poisoned?" 

He responded that the blackish substance was not poison but could be anything.

Dr. Soyemi claims that if there was any harmful chemical substance in the body there would have been a form of bruise and a lining.

However, several examination where done by the counsel. 

The Coroner Magistrate Kadiri adjourned the case to 14th of February 2022 for further investigation. 

Chico Ejiro's Last Son, Viano, Dies Less Than a Year After the Nollywood Director's Death 

Viano was the son of Joy Chico Ejiro and Chico Ejiro before his sad passing.

 

The last son of the Ejiros died less than a year after the legendary Director, Chico Ejiro died.

 

Viano had been battling cancer for years and his father had devoted his life and resources to his treatment.

 

Viano's mother, Joy Chico Ejiro, had also been playing her part. She moved to the US to get the best health care for her son who was diagnosed with cancer related ailments while still a toddler.

 

Unfortunately, the young warrior passed on yesterday, less than 11 months after his father's death.

 

Chico Ejiro died on Christmas day, Dec. 25, 2020, of complications related to high blood pressure.

As the nation marks one year of EndSARS today, Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, has insisted that the claimed massacre of Nigerians during the nationwide mass protests against police brutality, was phantom.

Speaking during a news conference in Abuja, Mr Lai said that most of the claims of killings were false and misleading as most of those who made the claims of losing people were yet to show up and give evidence a year after such allegations.

His statement reads in part:

“The military did not shoot at protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate on Oct. 20th 2020, and there was no massacre at the toll gate. The only ‘massacre’ recorded was in the social media, hence there were neither bodies nor blood.

ii) Amnesty International, CNN, a runaway DJ and others like them should apologize for misleading the world that there was a massacre at the Lekki Toll Gate and for portraying the Nigerian military, police and other security agencies in bad light.”

Soldiers have rescued a suspected thief from being lynched by an angry mob in Malawi.

The incident happened in Mzuzu, the capital of Malawi's Northern Region on Monday, October 4.

According to online report, the young man was caught stealing clothes and was about to be set ablaze when soldiers from Moyale Barracks arrived the scene and rescued him.

Two Brothers who were born of the same Father and Mother in Adamawa kidnapped their own Biological Father and demanded Ransom money from their uncles but when the uncles could not produce the ransom,they decided to kill him for fear of been exposed but unfortunately someone had sighted them during the kidnapping. Otsepa Collins (born 3rd February 2000) professionally know with his stage name Inkreece is a Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter. He is currently signed to the label Afrique Boys Entatainment (ABE).

Inkreece is an origin of Ado local government area in Benue state, a north central state in Nigeria. He was born into the well respected family of the Otsepa's. He also had his primary and secondary education in Makurdi, Benue state and then furthered his tertiary education at the Benue state university (BSU) where he had a degree in mass communication.

While growing up as a kid, Inkreece listened to alot of music in all genres and this influenced him to start writing music at the age of 15 and this gave him the ability to sing and rap. It is also the reason his style of music cuts across different genres and form of music to make something new, this is simply known as "fusion" which he is pretty good at.

Inkreece recorded his first rap song back in high school but he couldn't put it out and give it the promotion it needed so it was only heard by his friends. Then he recorded another track, a trap music with his best friend from growing up Mahd Jay who is a producer, and again the jam wasn't given the right promotion it needed. But they never stopped, they kept their hopes high and kept on making good music with the help of a state of the art producer who goes by the name Bizzouch in a mini studio they created.

Inkreece was born into a christian home and immediately after his secondary education, Inkreece joined a gospel rap band in church where he did great. All of these wasn't enough for young Inkreece, so he'd always sneak out from home to attend music concerts and shows simply because his parents were against it, but this wasn't a problem for him because he had passion for music and he did everything be with what he loved which was music. Soon he had a shot to perform at a school's press day event, although it was his first performance live to a large crowd, Inkreece did well and from that moment he started getting support for alot of people and this gave him more reason to make music.

Inkreece was later discovered by Pavic and Veedo founders of Afrique Boys Entatainment (ABE). The label is committed to give him all he needs to rise to stardom. The idoma youngster has released some interesting songs like; Jewish Bag, Geng Up (feat. Exzify), Losse Guard etc. With no doubt, Inkreece is a handsome, hardworking and an easy going star with a focused mindset on winning Inkreece is currently single with no child and not in for any relationship as he wishes to focus on his career. He residents in an apartment provided by his label Afrique Boys Entatainment in Lagos, Nigeria.

As earlier reported 5 days ago, the University of Ilorin management has closed its undergraduate portal supposed for registration for the Pre-Admission Screening Exercise.

As highlighted by the management, candidates are to take note of the following.

1. The portal has fully closed for 2020/2021 Admission session

2. Candidates still awaiting release of Neco result can no longer upload as the school will not give room for re-opening.

3. The management will begin internal screening of candidates who have applied, however candidates will not be granted Admission until the said period {Not earlier than May/June} for reasons which has been made clear by the University Senate.

4. Candidates can not update or change data on their portal anymore.

Varsity workers begin nationwide strike Feb 5

Non-teaching staff in universities will commence a nationwide strike from February 15, 2021 over the Federal Government’s handling of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System(IPPIS), sharing formula of the N40 billion earned academic allowances and non-payment of arrears of the new minimum wage.

The workers, under the Joint Action Committee, which is made up of Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) had last week embarked on a three- day protest over government’s failure to honour the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed with the unions on 20th October, 2020.

The committee said other contentious issues that informed the decision to embark on a nationwide industrial action include inconsistencies in IPPIS payment and the delay in the renegotiation of the FGN/ ASUU/SSANU 2009 Agreement.

Others are the non-payment of retirement benefits to former members, non-constitution of visitation panels to universities, poor funding of universities, teaching staff usurping the headship of non-teaching units, among others.

Addressing newsmen on Friday in Abuja, the JAC of SSANU and NASU led by the National President of SSANU, Comrade Mohammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, said out of the seven issues under contention, only one was partially resolved.

JAC said: “Out of the seven issues, only one has been partially resolved while the other six issues have not been attended to by government, three months after the Memorandum of Understanding was signed.”

JAC noted that after the congresses held by its branches on Tuesday this week, 90 per cent of NASU members were in support of a strike and 10 percent stood against it. While 83 per cent of SSANU members were in support of embarking on strike, 11 per cent were against the strike and 6 percent were indifferent.

“It is in line with the resolution of our members nationwide that the leadership of the joint action committee of NASU and SSANU hereby resolve as follows;

“That members of NASU and SSANU shall embark on an indefinite, comprehensive and total strike with effect from midnight of Friday, 5th February 2021.

“That two weeks’ notice effective from today, Friday 22nd January 2021, is hereby given to government and relevant stakeholders of this development,” the JAC president said.

 President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, has offered some explaination as to why the pigeons used to symbolise peace refused to fly on the Armed Forces Remembrance day.

Mr. Adesina who disclosed this on Thursday, in an article he titled ‘REFLECTIONS FROM A WREATH LAYING CEREMONY’ disclosed that the pigeons did not fly because they have gotten used to the cage as lawful captives.

The president’s aide said that the birds not flying was completely normal, being roaming animals that have been circumscribed for a period of time he is not aware of.

“The pigeons had been kept in a cage. For how long, I do not know. And When birds and some other roaming animals have been circumscribed for a while, they get accustomed to their new status as lawful captives.Therefore, when you offer them freedom, they first baulk, thinking it’s too good to be true. It is a natural phenomenon,” Mr. Adesina wrote.

Mr. Adesina also characteristically threw a jab at Nigerian social media commentators who described the refusal of the birds to fly as an omen that there is no peace in the country, describing majority of them as “idle and indolent.”

He wrote: “But not to the idle and indolent, most of who populate the social media. It was time to major in something minor, cavil and find fault unnecessarily.”
